Markets and railway journeys

A glimpse of Thailand through the busy edge of a floating market, a railway market, and the train ride between places.

Markets make travel feel close to everyday life. You see the landscape around them, the movement of people, and the practical details of how a place works.

In Thailand, I was drawn to the scenes around a floating market and the railway market, where the railway itself becomes part of the setting. A train journey belongs in the same collection: it connects places while offering a slower view of the country in between.

These pictures hold three parts of one kind of travel memory—the market, the route, and the small surprises along the way. I like that they make the journey feel as present as the destination.
